Glassblowing Experiences
Interested in making glass art yourself? No experience necessary! Work one-on-one with one of Local Art Glass’s friendly and knowledgeable instructors to make a personal piece of glass with as much hands-on experience possible to produce a handmade glass item successfully:
We offer several options:
Beginning Experiences:
Tier 1
Make a handblown glass ornament or small Pacific Northwest fisherman’s glass float –
both are usually between 3.5 – 4 inches in size
glassblowing experience lasts about 15 minutes per participant - $75
Tier 2 – more involved
Make a large suncatcher or a large fisherman’s float or a double walled bowl
usually measure between 5-7 inches in diameter
glassblowing experience lasts about 15 -20 minutes per participant - $85
Tier 3 - most involved
Make either pint glass, rocks glass, small vase, or bowl
In this experience you will learn how a punty transfer works, and will also learn to open a vessel by hand with the glassblowing jacks.

3 Hour Private Lesson
Work on developing hand skills and glassblowing basics. Make as many pieces as you can within the allotted time period
$600 per session, max three participants
Private Events
Interested in hosting a private glassblowing party for friends or team building with work colleagues? Feel free to bring food and drinks – nosh on charcutier and wine while taking turns at the glassblowing bench. Please contact us with your details for rates.

Hotshop
Hotshop rental is available to experianced glassblowers. 4 hour minimum, unless other arrangements are made. 16” glory hole $45 per hour, 10” Glory hole $40 per hour.
Kilns
Paragon Pearl 56, Skutt 1014, lots of kiln furniture, and slumping molds. Kiln rental $50, unless using an extended program.
Coldshop
We are proud to say we have one of the most comprehensive coldshops in the Portland Metro area. Coldshop Rental $20 per hour
